Hamburger Phone

I had a hamburger battery operated radio when I was a kid and I took it everywhere with me. I was prettttty cool like that.

As most of you probably saw in the movie Juno, they featured an awesome hamburger telephone that would obviously make a great addition to ANY home, right? I saw this a while ago on the Girlz Lyfe site, but now it's on sale which is an ever better reason for people to buy it.

Recipe Cards

A good friend of mine asked if my place of employment sells recipe cards because she needs some for her sister's wedding. The ones we sell are kinda craptacular, so I suggested that she check out what there is on Etsy. I was bored so I did a bit of searching myself and found these.

It could be a great hostess/house warming gift.

while I'm posting an item from this particular seller's shop, I might as well post another item from their shop that I thought was simply lovely. I will now admit that I do work at a Hallmark and I believe we should sell these cards.

Cup n' Saucer Set

I found this seller's shop on the Etsy front page. The ceramic bowls and cups that they make come in non-traditional prints (such as a sewing machine, holga camera, skeleton hand, etc etc). I chose to post today a more traditional design - a poppy... mainly because I like the color combo they used for these. Black, grey and red always seem to work well together, whether it be on your walls, bookshelves, or even ceramic cup sets.

Punk Baby

This Etsy listing caught my eye because it has hot pink and the cutest model EVER. This punk baby tutu isn't the most practical outfit, but it's definitely a cute one.... PERFECT for photoshoots. Although, I think I'd take this baby out in public with the tutu on.

Obama Visits

United States' President, Obama, will visit Canada tomorrow for the first time as President. Hotels in Ottawa are booking up FAST as people will try to get a glimpse of the man. Even if you can't make it to Ottawa for the occasion, you can still buy this t-shirt and celebrate elsewhere.

It's pretty damn cute.

Umbra Mirrors

Where I work, we sell Umbra brand frames, which I've always loved. I have a few of them in my room, too. They were never your traditional wood frames and were appealing if you were looking for something different. You can check out their frames here.

I knew that Umbra makes other produtcs other than frames and albums, but never realized how neat all of them were. They definitely sell a wide range of things, from soap dishes, to clocks, to chairs, to waste baskets, to... mirrors!! Some of them are king of "cooky" and large, but large mirrors can work wonders in a small space to fool the eye and make the room seem larger. These are my top three favs.

Face Mugs

These things are way too cute. When you take a nice long sip of whatever you choose to drink from a mug, you're bound to make someone smile. They're so cute they make me want to keep them upside down like that and not drink out of them.

I think I like the koala face mug the best. There was a cat one, but it's already sold out.. so if you want one of these, act fast!!

Keytars

Hope everyone had a lovely Valentines Day (if you acknowledged it).  I had a heart shaped pizza.  Yummy.

Okay, today's entry comes in the form of an accessory for your keys!! Not your traditional coloured circle that you slip over your keys, this time you can slip a whole guitar over them!!  KEYtar!  This pack is quite the bargain because you get 6 colourful keytars for your keys.   Not sure why you would have that many keys, but if you do, then you can use a different colour for each.  Browse the rest of this site too, it's pretty cute.

Owl Owl Owl

So last night I attended Winterlicious in Toronto at the restaurant Fuzion. It was really yummy. The only downside - I wasn't full at the end, but I was satisfied with how all my food tasted.

Anyways, so today's entry is about this CUTE Owl card holder. I was thinking today how I could use some sort of card holder for all those points cards that require stamps and whatnot. Those come in handy when you can fill them up. Anything to save a buck, you know.

They come in three different colors so you have a choice. I think the owl on the black printed one looks really sad :(

Index Chopping Board

After posing for some lovely graduation photos, eating a slice of cheese pizza, and finding out that Roberto Alomar has AIDS, I am now killing time at my school's "meeting place" which is essentially where you go when you want to eat food and hang out with people. But I'm alone.

Well, sorry that I did not make an entry yesterday. I'm sure all 5 of you were quite worried. But I am back today and I have a neat item to share with you all.

Sick and tired of cross-contaminating your food while prepping for a tasty meal? This item from the Museum of Modern Art online store will help solve that problem. It's geeky and practical all in one!

With these cutting boards, you have a seperate board for red/raw meat, white/cooked foods, blue/fish, and green/vegetables.

Potty Training Dogs

So, I'm going to use today's entry for some shameless self promotion. I have added a new item to my Etsy shop!! In the next few days I will add some more with different colors and whatnot.

What is this new item you ask??

Well, we once hung up a string of bells to the door that we used to let Zelda outside. She quickly learned that if she wanted to go outside to go potty that all she had to do was hit these bells and then stare at us like a hawk... or a weirdo.

I have my own version of these doggy door bells for other people to use because I believe it was an effective method.

Visit the listing for this item and you can see a more detailed explanation on how this works.

Oil Lamp Awards

If there was such a thing as the oil lamp awards, then these things would definitely win. I would throw a fit if they didn't win. Check these out NOW because there isn't too many left. Also, check out the whole website... you can find some really interesting stuff on there. A lot of it IS overpriced, but the items are so unique and it could be worth spending the extra cash for something different in your home. I'll probably feature a lot more items from this site on my blog in the near future.

So yes, the oil lamps. Take a look first and see!!

Lumen Oil Lamps By: Adam Frank

When these bad boys are lit, a shadow is projected onto the wall and moves about as the flame flickers. It's like artwork that you can turn on and off... and that moves. I'm pleased with the "nest" design because it has the birds/cherry blossoms that I like so much. Out of the tree ones, I really like the pine lamp.

All Too Good

I first stumbled upon these pretty pillows, but decided to also check out the rest of this particular Etsy shop.  I like it all!!!

First up is some awesome art.  It's pretty simple, but I like how you can purchase a few that are all very similar and group it together on the wall.  Best thing about them is that they are all already framed and ready to go... and if you order more than one, the shipping is cheaper.

The items that first caught my eye were these pillows.  You can get them in any color you can imagine.  If you like that bird motif, then these pillows are definitely for you.

Umbrella Version Geek.0

Today’s entry is for those geeky dudes out there. I wouldn’t carry this around with me, but I still think it’s pretty cool!

It’s definitely not your traditional umbrella and you might get a few double takes if you walk around with it in the city... but just whip it out whenever someone gives you a hard time! It’s like what I learned in my high school self defense class. If someone creepy is following you, start acting crazy and pretend to catch mystery butterflies with your imaginary net.

Stylish Glasses Case

I went for the first time in about... 7 years I'd say to get my eyes checked. I do have a pair of glasses and I knew my eyes were worse than that, so I really had no excuse not to get them checked again. My new glasses will be ready in about 7 business days. The lady tried to get me to buy these super expensive gucci or dolce and gabanna frames, but I kept telling her "I'm not one of those girls" and that I just wanted simple plastic frames. I think I ended up with the cheapest pair there (not intentionally) but luckily that's just how it happened.

I always have hated those cases that they give you with your glasses and always lose them within days of a new pair. Since I'm not technically paying for my glasses (yay insurance!!) I could justify spending money on a reallllly cool case for them.

I found this one on Etsy (of course). They are on the pricey side, but they're differant than what you would get with your glasses. Pretty cute looking if you ask me!

Mustache

Today's item is both funny and practical. Everyone has keys for something... a key for your home, a key for your car, mail key, random locked door keys, etc. So obviously you're going to need somewhere to keep these keys other than a bajillion chunky key chains.

A part of me thinks that if you hung this moustache key holder in your home, people would walk past it, stop, walk back to it and then laugh. I've never seen anything like it before!! It's made out of recycled wood, but this piece has a bit of character to it with neato grain patterns and whatnot.

Slippy Slippers

So it's snowing outside and everyone is driving like complete IDIOTS. If you're turning left at a major intersection, don't fully stop your vehicle in the middle of the intersection, or else the person that was turning behind you will honk their horn at you. I always seem to get stuck behind people like this.

Anyways, since it is cold outside today and will be cold tomorrow and the day after that, I decided to post some slippers!

These slippers are mocassin style and come in a cute mint green colour and look extremely warm and comfy... PERFECT for a cold winter day and look like they would stay on nicely during sleep time.

The only thing you'd have to be careful about with these slippers is that they could be pretty slippy. I wish all socks and slippers came with those no slip spots on the bottom that kids' socks come with. Just be careful.

Free shipping in the U.S. and cheap shipping elsewhere is always a plus.

Valentines

For this next entry, I typed in "Valentines" in the search box in Etsy. This item came up on the first page.

Everything about it is lovely... and in case you haven't realized it yet, it's SOAP!!! I've never seen soap this cute in a long time. The ingredients in it is also a plus (goat milk, shea butter, etc) and make it appear to be very moisturizing, which is a great thing for winter. I also like the cute packaging and the price!! I know, you could probably get 10 bars of soap at the drug store for the same price, but I don't mind paying a decent price for something completely unique and handmade. This listing on Etsy is for the soap featured in the first picture, but I also included the other picture to show you the other Valentines themed soap products that this seller creates.

This is off topic, but if anyone reading this has a new puppy, knows someone with a new puppy, or has a dog who isn't fully potty trained, I am going to be making what I like to call a doggy door bell to help in the potting training of dogs. They will be up in my Etsy Store in a few days, but I'll post them on here as well when they are done.

His and Hers Wallets

Need a new wallet to store your hard earned money in??

This entry features a wallet for both male and female, so everyone can enjoy.

Wallet One - Male
Where To Get It:
Quiet Doing's Shop

Cost:
$28 USD

I think this particular wallet works best for guys because there are just enough slots for a debit card, credit card, i.d., and perhaps a picture of a loved one. It obviously isn't your classic black or brown leather wallet, but this alternative is vegan and made out of colorful vinyl. I highly doubt you'll find one like this in stores... unless Quiet Doing has a non-virtual shop.

Wallet Two - Female
Where To Get It:
italiacraft shop

Cost:
$65 USD

Of course the ladies wallet I am posting is the more expensive one, but that's always the case. I tried to find one a little less expensive, but I kept coming back to this one. But really, it isn't that much money anyways. I like this one because it has a few slots not only for the traditional credit cards and i.d.s, but you can also add your savvy points collectors cards and what not... and there is also a spot for a pen!! Pen's are always in my purse, but never when I need them. The photo shows a spot being taken up by a smartphone... I think I'd just use it for some cash and keep my phone in my trusty pocket.
